Not only did i shoot a mule deer of a lifetime, but i was also able to kill my very first coyote as well. There was more guess work and skill involved and people did a lot of missing. I think the rut might start in december, but it varies on unit, so i don't think all late december hunts are. Since that is probably a 3.5 year old buck if it has b&c genetics it just makes it tough for them to grow up.
