Hunter education covers a variety of topics including firearms safety, wildlife identification, wildlife conservation and management, survival, archery, muzzleloading and hunter responsibility. Persons 17 years of age and older have the option of taking the course in person or online. However, a hunter education course is not required to purchase an apprentice license or a license identified as a “short term” license.
