New Cv Axle Leaking Grease. We go the extra step of driving the car in circle eights in the paddock to ensure the grease is sufficiently in the correct places on the cv joint before we put any racing loads on the axle. A grease leak is the first symptom that is most commonly associated with a bad or failing cv boot.

Dec 4, 2019 at 1:43 pm #1 In retrospect, i could have bought a boot kit from honda, but did not want to mess with the grease and not knowing if the joint is busted or still intact. I don’t know how similar your avalon is to my camry, but replacing the whole cv axles yourself is actually a very cheap and easy job. The proper way to repair the cv boots on the drive axles, is to remove the axle from the vehicle.
