Is a recognized 501(c)(3) organization and has a silver rating by guidestar. Another is opening cans of black beans — a main ingredient for tonight’s soup — and others are putting rolls and slices of bread in baskets and placing them on the long tables that occupy the floor. Affectionately known as vannies our dedicated soup van volunteers provide assistance to people who might be facing tough times. Our volunteers help break through the barriers of loneliness and isolation that many people within our communities experience.
