Vct Floor Tile Adhesive. Common in homes built in the 20th century, black mastic was used as an adhesive for ceramic tile, linoleum, and other flooring materials. Condition area to be installed, adhesive, and tile at 65° f (18° c) or above for 48 hours before, during, and for 48 hours after installation.
Subfloor must be smooth, sound, dry, clean, and free of dirt, wax, polish, paint, and all other foreign matter which may interfere in a good bond, including curing agents and sealers. Henry® 430 has up to a 24 hour working time, dries clear, and has excellent initial grab and ultimate bond strength. After pulling up your old vinyl composition tile flooring, you are likely to be left with vct adhesive residue all over the subfloor.
